الشيخ عبدالرحمن بن عبدالله بن سلطان بن خميس أبابطين (1050هـ – 1121هـ) والمولود في روضة سدير وكان قاضياً بها قبل دعوة الشيخ محمد بن عبدالوهاب رحمه الله. وألّف كتابه المشهور في الفقه (المجموع فيما هو كثير الوقوع). ولقد أدرك في زمانه العديد من المشايخ وتدارس معهم مثل الشيخ محمد بن إسماعيل الأشيقري والشيخ عبدالله بن ذهلان قاضي الرياض والشيخ أحمد بن محمد بن منقور في حوطة سدير، (علماً بأنكم أيضاً لم تذكروا هذا الشيخ الجليل في مقالتكم). والشيخ محمد بن عبدالله الدوسري والشيخ عبدالرحمن بن إسماعيل وقد يكون رحل لطلب العلم في بلدان هؤلاء العلماء مثل الرياض والعيينة وشقراء والمجمعة. والمطلع على كتاب الشيخ عبدالرحمن بن عبدالله أبابطين (المجموع فيما هو كثير الوقوع) يتضح له مدى غزارة العلم والمعرفة وسعة الاطلاع ويكفي أن هناك سبعة من طلبة جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية قاموا بإعداد سبع رسائل لنيل شهادة الماجستير عن كتاب شيخنا الجليل. وقد أشاد به كثير من المشايخ أمثال ابن منقور، وابن لعبون، والفاخري، وابن بشر، وبن عيسى. وهذه صورة من مقدمة كتاب الشيخ عبدالرحمن بن عبدالله أبابطين رحمه الله وأسكنه فسيح جناته.
