شكراً لدارة الملك عبد العزيز على مبادرتها بعمل ندوة عن منجزات وفعاليات تاريخ الملك فهد بن عبد العزيز. هذا الرجل الذي أخلص لدينه ووطنه وأمته وقاد دفة المسؤولية بكل جدارة ومقدرة، هو تاريخ أمة في رجل نهل من معين الإمام عبد العزيز بن عبد الرحمن آل فيصل ومن إخوانه فكان نعم القائد ونعم المواطن. وعندما نتحدث عن أحد هؤلاء الملوك أبناء وإخوان هذا الشعب فإنَّ مجال الحديث يطول ويتنوع، فلكل فترة ولكل ملك تميّز في خدمة الدين والوطن والحديث عن الملك فهد بن عبد العزيز – رحمه الله – حديث له شجونه، فهذا الملك وهبه الله الحكمة ورجاحة الفكر والعقل وقاد سفينته في زمن تلاحمت فيه الخطوب الخارجية من كل صوب وتلاطمت الأمواج، ولولا لطف الله سبحانه وتعالى ثم سياسة الملك فهد لتغيّرت كثير من المفاهيم والوقائع والأحداث. تشرّفت بلقائه عندما تخرّجت من جامعة الملك سعود عام 1392هـ وتشرفت بلقائه عدة مرات بالمنطقة الشرقية، وفي كل مرة تجد الابتسامة الأبوية على محياه لكل من حضر أو تحدث معه، وعندما يتحدث للإعلام تلتقط تصريحاته جميع محطات العالم، لأنّها تعلم أن الفهد يعي ويفهم ما يريد إبلاغه للآخرين وهي رسائل سياسية واقتصادية حفظت بلادنا من تقلبات كثيرة. في عهده شهدت البلاد أكبر توسعة تاريخية للحرمين الشريفين فهو يقول: (أود أن أؤكد لكم أيها الإخوة إن كل شيء أستطيع تقديمه للحرمين الشريفين مكة المكرمة مهبط الوحي والمدينة المنورة مشع نور الرسالة، لن أتردد لحظة في المبادرة إلى تقديمه، لأن ميزة هذا البلد إنما تتجلى في خدمة الحرمين الشريفين ورعاية الحاج والزوار والمعتمرين على مدار العام، وسوف لا أدخر وسعاً بالجهد والمال في سبيل اكتمال هذا العمل الإسلامي الحضاري والتاريخي الذي وهبت نفسي وإخواني في سبيل تحقيقه). وبفضل الله تمت التوسعة في خلال سنتين حتى ينعم الحاج والمعتمر بهذه النعمة. الشواهد على الإنجازات التي تمت في عهد الملك فهد – رحمه الله – كثيرة ومتعددة سواء في التعليم أو الصحة أو الأمن أو الطرق أو المواصلات. الملك فهد – رحمه الله – يحمل تجربة ثرية فهو قد تخرج من مدرسة الإمام عبد العزيز، هذه المدرسة التي غرست لدى الابن البار روح الإخلاص والوفاء لهذا الوطن وكان أن أصبح وزيراً للمعارف في عهد الملك سعود – رحمه الله – ثم رأى الملك فيصل من خلال ثقته ومقدرة الملك فهد أن يكون مرافقاً له في المؤتمرات الخارجية والتعامل مع القضايا الإقليمية والدولية، تلا ذلك ما استجد في مدرسة الملك خالد، هذا الملك النبيل صاحب القلب الكبير، من خلال هذه التجارب الغنية بخدمة الدين والوطن تكوّن لدينا ملك استطاع قيادة دفة الحكم بكل اقتدار وفطنة شهد بها القاصي والداني. رحم الله الفهد وأسكنه فسيح جناته وشكر الله سعي دارة الملك عبد العزيز على إقامة هذه الندوة وإعطاء لمحة من تاريخ رجل أحب شعبه وأحبه شعبه.
