تُعَد “حائل” من المدن التاريخية، فقد كانت ممراً لقوافل التجار في عصور مختلفة منذ القدم، تميز أهلها بالكرم والوفاء وحسن الخلق، وتعد من المناطق الجميلة في مملكتنا الغالية بطبيعتها الخلابة وتضاريسها الجيولوجية المدهشة، وبدعوة من أخي الغالي يوسف بن عبدالمحسن الهريش التميمي استمتعت برحلة في أرجاء “عروس الشمال” برفقة بعض الزملاء، استمتعنا من خلالها بمشاهدة عجائب سلسلة الجبلين “أجا وسلمى” ومرتفعاتها، لاسيما كنوز الجبال بتكويناتها الصخرية الفريدة من نوعها والنباتات العطرية بمنتزهاتها وأوديتها، وأجوائها الرائعة، كلها محفزة لانشراح الصدر والتأمل في إبداع الخالق سبحانه، وما شد انتباهي هو ما رأيته من أهل حائل، فقد وجدتهم أهل كرم وضيافة وتجذبك اللهجة الحائلية المحببة للجميع، كما يتعامل أهل حائل بروح المحبة والتسامح، تصاحبها عبارة (يابعد حيّي) وأول من أطلقتها سفانة ابنة حاتم الطائي لأخيها عدي، بمعنى ذهب أهلي.
وفي أعلى قمة “جبل السمراء” لدى أكرم العرب حاتم الطائي الذي أشعل ناره (الموقدة) حتى يستدل الضيوف على مكانه ليكرمهم، وأصبحت الموقدة من الأماكن التراثية التي تجذب السياح، بالإضافة للعديد من الأماكن الرائعة،
فهنيئاً لنا بحائل وبأهلها، باختصار حائل رواية كرم لاتنتهي.
